Although many race games of the 18th and 19th centuries were educational, some were designed for fun or interest. This French game, ‘dedicated to the beautiful sex’ features women’s hats and hairstyles. It is similar in design and playing methods to the English ‘Game of Human Life’. In each corner of the sheet is a scene for a different part of the day showing a woman, possibly Marie Antoinette, engaged in a relevant pursuit such as dressing and hunting.
